I’ve known The Boat Doctor for over five years and entrusted him with my Columbia Carbon 32 while it was berthed in Chicago during the Summer of 2019.  I live about 350 miles away and normally keep the boat on Lake Superior, so having him oversee the boat on Lake Michigan was an ideal arrangement.

While there, The Boat Doctor captained the boat in double-handed and fully crewed races achieving podium finishes in several.  He managed the boat as if it were his own and made needed repairs with an incredible amount of attention to detail.  One in particular, a repair to the tiller is as solid today, some 3+ years later, as it was when initially repaired.  The repair will likely outlast the tiller itself!

The Boat Doctor has also made running rigging for the boat.  In summer 2021, just before the start of our first CYCRTM, we needed a set of changing sheets.  I sourced the line from a local marine supplier and was misguided by the supplier as to the quality of line I was purchasing.  TBD identified the error, I obtained the proper line, he spliced it overnight and personally delivered it to the boat the day before the race started.

He is a ‘go to’ guy for us!
